Approved Absence Policy & Instructions for Advanced Coaching Course

The Advanced Coaching Course has very strict attendance requirements to ensure students meet the pass criteria. If you are unable to attend all the workshops, and you have not been granted an 'Approved Absence' for any missed workshops, you may have to resit the course in 2023.

Approved Absence Policy
Students are permitted a maximum of one Approved Absence during the full programme.
This one Approved Absence can excuse the student from a maximum of one workshop (or two workshops if across a weekend.
We are only able to provide you with an Approved Absence for the following preventing you from attending:
  1. Medical reasons (e.g. sickness, COVID-19, surgery, etc.) involving yourself or a close relative;
  2. Unforeseeable work requirements (e.g. a colleague becoming sick and needing your cover);
We are unable to approve any absences related to birthdays, weddings and other foreseeable events.

What Must I Do To Catch Up
If granted an Approved Absence, we will confirm this to you in writing. You must then ensure that you:
  1. Watch the recording of the workshop
  2. Practice the skills covered in that workshop with a partner (and record that practice)
  3. Attend a catch-up workshop to further practice that skill with your tutor
Catch Up Workshops
If your Approved Absense falls across two workshops (e.g. a weekend), then you must attend both catch up workshops. However, if your Approved Absence is for a single day, you are only required to attend one of the below dates.
  1. Saturday 18th June 2022, 09:30-17:00 (UK Time)
  2. Saturday 25th June 2022, 09:30-17:00 (UK Time)
Please confirm you understand the above are able to attend the required amount of catch-up workshops above. We will then consider your request in full and get back to you promptly.
